The Spatial Working Memory Test

What is it?

In SPWM, you’ll see a set of two or three black dots in random locations on the screen. After a short delay, a red dot will appear on the screen. You’ll need to decide if the red dot matches the location of one of the black dots that you saw on the previous screen. If it matches, press the MATCH key. If it doesn’t, press NO MATCH.

What does it measure?

Spatial processing consists of our ability to perceive and interpret spatial relationships between items in our environment, supporting our ability to carry out tasks such as navigation. Spatial abilities are vital to how to perceive and act on sources of stimulation in the environment.
